first_imgAustralia skipper Steve Smith wished his “friends and fans” in India on Diwali.Smith, 28, is one of the world’s leading batsmen and was at the forefront of a tense encounter with India in a four-Test series earlier in the year.Smith’s decision to look at the dressing-room for help with the DRS did not go down well with India captain Virat Kohli and there were some heated words spoken at the post-match press conference.However, Smith went on to apologise after India clinched the series in Dharamsala and later led Rising Pune Supergiant to the IPL final.The Australians returned in September for a limited-overs tour and lost the ODI series 4-1.
