(Photo by Tom Pennington/Getty Images)Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence is viewed as a potential No. 1 overall pick in a future NFL Draft. The former five-star recruit dazzled in his first season of college football, leading the Tigers to the national championship.Lawrence has at least two seasons of college football remaining, as he can’t declare for the NFL Draft until after his junior season. With Lawrence having to play for Clemson for at least two more years, some have discussed the possibility of the quarterback sitting out a season to preserve his health and NFL Draft stock. But don’t worry, Clemson fans, that’s not going to happen.Lawrence addressed the possibility on Monday. He shot it down.“Nah, no,” Lawrence told reporters on Monday night. “Everyone’s talking about that, but I don’t really care about that. It’s definitely not coming from me, all that stuff, so just kind of ignore it and keep working.”Lawrence has been linked to potential minor leagues, too, with Tom Brady’s agent attempting to start one. The Clemson quarterback wouldn’t be interested in that, either.“I think it’s just a different experience being able to go to school with guys your age, to be able to go through this experience of being in college,” Lawrence added. “And it’s a grind balancing school and football and all of that stuff but getting to meet new people and make friends outside of football, I think it’s really important to do.”Lawrence should be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft if he stays healthy, barring any surprises.last_img read more
